Miami Twp., Ohio – Regal Cinemas has signed a lease to locate a new movie theater at Austin Landing. The 14-screen theatre will include a giant screen presentation called the Regal Premium Experience (RPX). This RPX screen features crystal clear all digital projection, an immersive 3D experience, state of the art surround sound and a high impact giant screen.
“We are thrilled to welcome Regal Cinemas to the Austin Landing development,” said Randy Gunlock, president of RG Properties. “We expect the cinema to be a big draw for the region and anticipate it being very successful.”
“Regal is certain that guests will be impressed by our new theatre and the outstanding RPX auditorium,” said Dick Westerling, Regal Entertainment Group Senior Vice President of Marketing and Advertising. “Moviegoers will be attracted to Austin Landing from a wide region along both the I-75 and 675 corridors.”
Work is set to begin this summer on construction of the more than 55,000-square-foot theatre, with a planned opening in summer 2013. Regal Cinemas will have 14 screens and more than 2,700 seats. It is estimated that close to 50 new jobs will be created for the region.
In January, Austin Landing announced the creation of an additional 140 new jobs coming to the region with the commitments of Rue Dumaine, Alligator Annie’s and The Dublin Pub—the first restaurants to be announced at the development.
Gunlock said the cinema will create a welcome synergy with the combination of retail, restaurant, office and residential tenants expected at Austin Landing.
“We expect this state-of-the-art cinema to be an attraction for the entire region,” Gunlock said. “For those already living, working or shopping at Austin Landing, it will be another great element to enjoy, and for those not yet here, it will be a reason to come and check out everything Austin Landing has to offer.”
Gunlock continues to work with a variety of potential tenants wishing to locate at Austin Landing, and he said he is hoping to make many more exciting announcements soon regarding the development.
