Regal Cinemas signs on at Austin Landing

ImageMiami Twp., Ohio – Regal Cinemas has signed a lease to locate a new movie theater at Austin Landing. The 14-screen theatre will include a giant screen presentation called the Regal Premium Experience (RPX). This RPX screen features crystal clear all digital projection, an immersive 3D experience, state of the art surround sound and a high impact giant screen.

“We are thrilled to welcome Regal Cinemas to the Austin Landing development,” said Randy Gunlock, president of RG Properties. “We expect the cinema to be a big draw for the region and anticipate it being very successful.”

“Regal is certain that guests will be impressed by our new theatre and the outstanding RPX auditorium,” said Dick Westerling, Regal Entertainment Group Senior Vice President of Marketing and Advertising.  “Moviegoers will be attracted to Austin Landing from a wide region along both the I-75 and 675 corridors.”

Work is set to begin this summer on construction of the more than 55,000-square-foot theatre, with a planned opening in summer 2013. Regal Cinemas will have 14 screens and more than 2,700 seats. It is estimated that close to 50 new jobs will be created for the region.

In January, Austin Landing announced the creation of an additional 140 new jobs coming to the region with the commitments of Rue Dumaine, Alligator Annie’s and The Dublin Pub—the first restaurants to be announced at the development.

Gunlock said the cinema will create a welcome synergy with the combination of retail, restaurant, office and residential tenants expected at Austin Landing.

“We expect this state-of-the-art cinema to be an attraction for the entire region,” Gunlock said. “For those already living, working or shopping at Austin Landing, it will be another great element to enjoy, and for those not yet here, it will be a reason to come and check out everything Austin Landing has to offer.”

Gunlock continues to work with a variety of potential tenants wishing to locate at Austin Landing, and he said he is hoping to make many more exciting announcements soon regarding the development.

RG Properties has signed a lease to bring another national headquarters to Austin Landing. Sogeti USA will join the development next year.

Officials at RG Properties, the developer of Austin Landing, and Sogeti, a global information technology services firm, signed the lease Nov. 16. Sogeti will occupy more than 18,000 square feet on the second floor of Austin Landing II, the third office building at the Miami Twp. development. The company is expected to move its more than 50 in-office employees to the new office in Summer 2012. The target completion date for the newest building is June 1, 2012.

“Sogeti is a great company and a premiere office tenant indicative of the type of companies we are aiming to bring to Austin Landing,” said Jason Woodard, vice president of development for RG Properties. “We have been very fortunate to bring a tremendous group of tenants together as the foundation of Austin Landing, and Sogeti is a perfect addition to our community.”

Sogeti USA is one of the world’s leading IT consulting firms. It has offices in more than 23 cities across the United States, including four in Ohio, and more than 20,000 experts in 15 countries. The global headquarters is located in Paris, France. At its national headquarters, currently located in Centerville, Sogeti has more than 160 employees, 50 of which work out of the firm’s offices, while the remainder work from the field.

“Our client-centric business model has seen strong growth in 2011 and we are seeing sustained demand going forward.” said Rajesh Eshwar, Sogeti USA’s VP of Sales. “To support this demand, we are expanding our presence in Dayton and are excited to continue our growth journey by occupying the Austin Landing facility. This is a further commitment to expand our operations in the USA and create more employment opportunities in the community.”

Occupancy of the third office building at Austin Landing sits at more than 50 percent as it is being constructed. Clark Schaefer Hackett announced plans in August to open its Miami Valley headquarters in the building as well.

“It’s been a very productive year at Austin Landing,” Woodard said. “We look forward to making many more positive announcements in 2012.”
