Showing our appreciation with coffee and bagels

The team from RG Properties played host to a Coffee and Bagel event Friday May 4 in the lobby of Austin Landing I. The event took place as a tenant appreciation event, thanking the current office tenants of the building for helping to make Austin Landing a great place to work.

More than 150 gourmet coffee drinks and fresh fruit smoothies were served by Coffee Caboose Owners Jenny and Tony. Coffee drinks included Cappucino, Raspberry Chuckle, S’more Latte, Zebra Mocha and Chai Tea, among several other creative offerings.

However, with the weather heating up in the region, smoothies were the drink of choice, as people were lining up to order their favorite flavors.

A variety of gourmet bagels and muffins, as well as a variety of cream cheese, were available as well, from My Favorite Muffin.

Turnout was great, and RG is vigorously working to host more great events throughout the development as the Austin Landing community grows bigger and better every day.

Misty Sirch earns promotion, CSM designation

RG Properties has promoted Misty Sirch to Director of Retail Portfolio Management. Simultaneously, Sirch earned designation with the International Council of Shopping Centers as a Certified Shopping Center Manager (CSM).

“Misty has never shied away from a challenge,” said Bo Gunlock, vice president of asset management. “No task has proven to be too difficult or too mundane.  She pitches in wherever needed and is a true ‘team player’.”

Sirch has worked toward achieving her CSM designation throughout the past two years through the John T. Riordan School of Professional Development. Only a small percentage of industry professionals achieve this designation, which requires a qualifying level of active, full-time work experience with substantial shopping center responsibilities, as well completion of substantial coursework and study at the institute. The certification gives recognition to those who demonstrate the highest level of competency in their specialty. Just 56 people received the CSM internationally in 2011.

In her new role as Director of Retail Portfolio Management, Sirch will oversee the overall operational activities of the RG-owned shopping center portfolio. She also will continue as property manager for her current portfolio of properties.

Sirch has a background of almost 20 years of experience in marketing. She has achieved national recognition for her sales campaigns and dedication to customer service. Sirch graduated with honors from Edison State Community College with an associate’s degree in sales/marketing and anticipates completing her bachelor’s degree in marketing at the University of Dayton next summer. She received her real estate license in 2009.

“As the most experienced field property manager at RG Properties, she has not only done an excellent job of servicing our clients and retailers needs, she also has done an outstanding job mentoring and teaching others,” Gunlock said. “We look forward to seeing her excel in her new role.”

Regal Cinemas signs on at Austin Landing

ImageMiami Twp., Ohio – Regal Cinemas has signed a lease to locate a new movie theater at Austin Landing. The 14-screen theatre will include a giant screen presentation called the Regal Premium Experience (RPX). This RPX screen features crystal clear all digital projection, an immersive 3D experience, state of the art surround sound and a high impact giant screen.

“We are thrilled to welcome Regal Cinemas to the Austin Landing development,” said Randy Gunlock, president of RG Properties. “We expect the cinema to be a big draw for the region and anticipate it being very successful.”

“Regal is certain that guests will be impressed by our new theatre and the outstanding RPX auditorium,” said Dick Westerling, Regal Entertainment Group Senior Vice President of Marketing and Advertising.  “Moviegoers will be attracted to Austin Landing from a wide region along both the I-75 and 675 corridors.”

Work is set to begin this summer on construction of the more than 55,000-square-foot theatre, with a planned opening in summer 2013. Regal Cinemas will have 14 screens and more than 2,700 seats. It is estimated that close to 50 new jobs will be created for the region.

In January, Austin Landing announced the creation of an additional 140 new jobs coming to the region with the commitments of Rue Dumaine, Alligator Annie’s and The Dublin Pub—the first restaurants to be announced at the development.

Gunlock said the cinema will create a welcome synergy with the combination of retail, restaurant, office and residential tenants expected at Austin Landing.

“We expect this state-of-the-art cinema to be an attraction for the entire region,” Gunlock said. “For those already living, working or shopping at Austin Landing, it will be another great element to enjoy, and for those not yet here, it will be a reason to come and check out everything Austin Landing has to offer.”

Gunlock continues to work with a variety of potential tenants wishing to locate at Austin Landing, and he said he is hoping to make many more exciting announcements soon regarding the development.

RG Properties to Participate in Bowl For Kids’ Sake

Image

RG Properties has started a team for the 2012 Bowl For Kids’ Sake to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Miami Valley.

The event is set to take place this Saturday, March 24 at Poelking Woodman Lanes at 3200 Woodman Drive in Kettering, Ohio.

Below is an excerpt from Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Miami Valley about the event:

Bowl for Kids’ Sake is Big Brothers Big Sisters largest local fundraiser, raising dollars for children in need across the Miami Valley. Our goal is to raise $75,000 to make a positive, long-lasting impact on the children in and around Dayton. Being matched with a Big Brother or Big Sister helps broaden a child’s perspective and helps them learn how to make good choices. It starts a child on the path to fulfilling their potential – and succeeding in school and life.

Bowl for Kids’ Sake is a fun and easy way to positively impact a child’s life. Just follow the simple steps below:

1) Start a team – Teams are formed with five members. Consider creating a team with family, friends, fraternity brothers, sorority sisters, or co-workers.

2) Start securing sponsorships – Each bowler is asked to raise a minimum of $65 in order to participate. We recommend setting a goal of $100 per participant, and teams are engcouraged to set a goal of $500 or more.

The best part? All of the event expenses are completely underwritten by our corporate sponsors. That means 100% of the money raised by bowlers goes directly towards supporting children served by Big Brothers Big Sisters in the Miami Valley.

3) Start bowling – After you have secured your sponsorships, it’s time to have fun! You’ll receive two free games of bowling (shoe and ball rental included!), a Bowl for Kids’ Sake t-shirt, food and drinks.

So what are you waiting for? Start Something today! Partnering with Big Brothers Big Sisters through Bowl for Kids’ Sake makes a positive, long-lasting impact on children in your community. Our mentoring works. It works to help broaden children’s perspectives and helps them learn how to make good choices. It starts a child on the path to fulfilling their potential – and succeeding in school and life.

The RG Properties team is looking forward to being a part of this event, and we encourage you to become involved as well. To view our team page, click here.

We will post photos of our team bowling after the event.

RG Volunteers at Cars and Cabernet to benefit Epilepsy Foundation

Image

Employees from RG Properties were happy to volunteer at the Cars and Cabernet benefit for the Epilepsy Foundation of Western Ohio this weekend.

The event took place Saturday, March 10 at the Taj Ma Garaj in Dayton and included live music, wine tasting and a silent auction to raise money to support the foundation’s mission. RG Properties employees, along with their families, volunteered, helping out with security, the silent auction and serving drinks at the bar.

For more information about the Epilepsy Foundation of Western Ohio. Visit their website here. Below is an excerpt from the foundation’s website describing their mission and purpose.

Living with epilepsy presents challenges affecting many aspects of  life, including relationships with family and friends, school, employment and leisure activities. While medications and other treatments help manage seizures, more than one million people continue to have seizures that impact their daily activities.

The Epilepsy Foundation works to ensure that people with seizures are able to participate in all life experiences and we encourage you to seek the best level of seizure control as possible. It is important not to settle for just a reduction in seizures, but to become as informed as possible and always aim for the best treatment results possible.

The challenges of epilepsy vary among women, men, seniors, adolescents and children. Visit the sections devoted to each of these populations for resources and programs that will help navigate life with epilepsy and to learn more about your rights, options and responsibilities.

Remember—you may have epilepsy, but epilepsy does not have you. Whether you have epilepsy or you are the parent, sibling, other family member or friend of someone who has epilepsy—you are not alone. We are your community—join us!
